When the Chinese United Church closed in our town, the last few members joined our Church. We usually sit in the row ahead of them and they have made very good friends with our little girls. Because Chinese New Year falls on a Sunday this year, we wanted to take them some cards. I used
Fan's Cricket by Mo Manning for my image. I colored her using Prismacolor pencils and some glitter gel pens for her trim and on the cricket cage. The Happy New Year banner, lanterns and Chinese lattice corner pieces were all cut files from my Silhouette. I did go over the gold cardstock that backs the lanterns with a Martha Stewart glitter marker to add some shine. I also used a gold trimmed crochet cotton as the string for the lanterns. The little girls decorated the insides. I love how they turned out!
